Astral Annie: The Scariest AI Movie Trailer We’ve Ever Made

This week we finally dropped something we’ve been dreaming about for years — the first cinematic trailer for Astral Annie.

If you’ve been following us, you know this one is special. Astral Annie is the story of Annie Morgan, the eldest daughter of a military family who’s constantly on the move. But when her family settles into a new town, Annie discovers something that can’t be packed away or left behind:

🌙 The Story Behind the Trailer

Annie’s little sister “falls” from a treehouse… but in reality, she’s pushed by one of the three Smithwick Sisters, a coven of evil witches who want her soul.
Annie has to team up with a local boy and journey into the astral plane to fight the Smithwick Sisters.
Along the way, Annie discovers she’s a benandanti — a “good witch” born to protect the innocent.
It’s a coming-of-age tale about courage, family, and choosing to do the right thing, wrapped in dark mystery, supernatural suspense, and just enough comedy to breathe between scares.

Think of it as Stranger Things meets The Sixth Sense, but through our lens. Not a kids’ movie — but definitely one they’ll sneak-watch when they’re old enough.

🎥 How We Made the Trailer

The trailer you just watched wasn’t built in Hollywood. It was built right here in our micro studio with a Frankenstein’s lab of AI + Unreal tools:

Runway for raw shot generation.
Hailuo MiniMax, SDXL, Flux, ComfyUI for refining, layering, and controlling details.
Unreal Engine 5.6 for complex camera moves, dialogue shots, and environmental realism.

Most of the trailer is pure AI imagery stitched into cinematic form, but when things got tricky — like long dialogue exchanges or moving cameras — Unreal Engine gave us the backbone.

🚧 Why This Matters

This trailer isn’t just a test. It’s a pitch piece for the Astral Annie feature script we’re writing right now. It shows the mood, the stakes, and the characters — and proves that even with two people, one mocap suit, and some stubborn computers, we can build worlds at scale.

This is the kind of story we want to keep telling: bold, supernatural, emotional, and impossible to shake.
